Crossroads Clubs was formed to have more contact with students in order to equip them with the tools to use as they approach the upcoming crossroads of their lives to live a purity based life. Our heart is to be as available as we can, and to meet with as many students as possible through club meetings, mentoring, in-home group meetings and studies. We also work with parents to help give a comprehensive approach to assisting the students, plus looking at real-world factors that shape their children and family. We educate the students about focusing on where they are going in the big picture of life. We cultivate the decision making in order to stay their course. Finally, we motivate them to stand firm in their decision to lead a purity based life as well as to educate other students to do the same.
Plan A is the abstinence education program in the Conejo Valley developed to teach students the sexual health section of local high school and middle school health classes. We give out the facts about STD/STI's as well as the latest stats about teens contracting infections or getting pregnant. We tell the kids straight up that we are not there to tell them what to do or what not to do. By educating students on the facts and showing them how we are given a lot of mixed messaging, especially through the media, we end up seeing a shift in students who were not going to wait until marriage to have sex to more students waiting for marriage. Jenna has developed great relationships with the local health teachers allowing her to get more insight into what the students are facing in their current life issues. This allows us to bring in relevant information to address each class' concerns.
Parent questions are always encouraged as we understand your concern for your student. If you have a school or church group you would like to have us come speak at, please contact us via phone or email found HERE.
Jenna A. Crenshaw Jenna started volunteering at a pregnancy center in 2003. Shortly after starting, she got involved in helping the abstinence speaker, coordinating speaking engagements and events. She was given the opportunity to speak at one school and has been doing it ever since. Jenna has always loved seeing the change in the students she has spoken to, but there has always be a desire for more contact. There was a great need to have follow-up and build on that change happening in the classroom. This is how Crossroads Club began. When Jenna isn't speaking in the classroom, or leading Crossroads Club meetings, she enjoys spending time with her family while she is tending to her garden, hiking, crocheting some project, or discovering something new to try.
Robert B. Crenshaw Rob has always had a passion for working with youth and has a great way to connect with students. He began by working with at-risk youth while in college, as well as coaching youth and high school soccer. After his career as a personal trainer, Rob joined with Jenna to help lead Crossroads Club. Rob is certified in QPR. Being the youth pastor in his church, he is able to gain insight into the youth culture and reach them in many different ways. Rob is always staying in tune with current culture and social media issues. "We have a whole new style of communicating and today's parents may not recognize the signs and the risks for our kids." Rob loves to be with his family, read and learn. He also likes hiking, fitness and cookies.
